LOINNIR 2009

The fortnight of children’s workshops preceding the Loinnir exhibition included Shadow Puppet Animations, Easter Island inspired Heads, Kite Making, Painted T Shirts, Tie Dye Flags, Lino Printing on Fabric, Bamboo & Willow Tunnel, Book making and Marbling on Paper.

The Loinnir show consisted of 22 large scale illuminated sculptures created by 14 participating artists, shadow puppet animation films from the children’s workshops, and live traditional music.

Despite the economic gloom and inclement weather, the show attracted an estimated 3,000 visitors.

Over the years many local people have given their time and expertise to help make An Cosan Glas Loinnir a successful and enjoyable community project.
