LOINNIR 1999

Three artists joined the core group in 1999 – Billy Wynter from Cornwall, England, Brendan Farren from Glenties, Co. Donegal, and John Langan from Limerick.

At the start of the project the children were asked to imagine that they had crash landed onto an island which encompassed the area of the trail. They had to explore the island, look for evidence of local tribes or previous cultures, and collect interesting or useful objects with which to make sculptures.

A total of 61 individual sculptures were made by forty children over the two week period.
