LOINNIR 2007

2007 was marked by the 400th anniversary of the ‘Flight of the Earls’ and much of the work of the childrens workshops was based on this, with nautical inspired animation films, towers, heraldic flags shields and dragons which formed the entrance to the trail.

An Cosan Glas artists created 15 large scale illuminated sculptures and were joined by a team of ‘Walk the Plank’ pyrotechnic artists from Britain who constructed three huge dragons on the shores of Ballyness Bay, from which ejected huge plumes of fire, sparks and smoke.
