An Cosan Glas Sculpture Trail 2000

2000

The event took place on Falcarragh beach. Fergus Mulvanney, a renowned sand sculptor from Dublin shared his knowledge and skills in making sand sculpture and was joined by Caoimhghín O Fraithile, a sculptor from Limerick who worked with the children on the beach. Most of the sculptures were made from sand, stones, and water, and by the nature of the material disintegrated fairly quickly. Sculptures constructed from driftwood, grasses and stones lasted longer. In addition, Fergus carved a figurative sculpture in Falcarragh town based on a local historical character, Balor of the Evil Eye.
